We hope many of you have received a vaccination or will do soon and in the meantime are staying safe and well. We all hope to see you back soon! The Board and Management Team have been working extremely hard on your behalf to keep the Club in good shape for the return to golf and some normality. Here is another quick update on what is happening in preparation for your return. A further update to include the latest view of the Club's finances will be circulated later this month.

COURSE WINTER WORK
As you will have seen from the previous update, Lee and his team continue to work hard to ensure that our course is as good as it can be for our return.
One of the key projects that has now commenced is the upgrade of selected bunkers. Our Contractor has now started bunker repairs / upgrades on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th holes and despite the weather some good early progress has been made. Much of this will be funded by an insurance claim and the final settlement figure from the Insurers has still not been concluded. Therefore , we will prioritise further work once the settlement is known.
There has also been further tree work completed and some 37 new trees have now been planted around the course - 1st, 9th, 12th, 14th, 15th and 16th holes.

Members are welcome to walk the course in two’s as part of their exercise regime so long as they are respecting the Covid rules. A single member may walk with a non-member providing they are not part of a larger group. Whilst dogs are not normally allowed on the course members are welcome to bring their dog as long as it is kept on a lead and under control - this is particularly important given the contractors machinery and work continuing throughout the week including weekends.

CHANGING ROOM REFURBISHMENTS
Whilst there have been few people around the opportunity has been taken to start the much needed refurbishment of the some of the changing facilities at the Club. The old junior changing room is nearing completion as a first stage as part of the programme of works which will improve both Health & Safety and the appeal of the Club. These new facilities close to the Pro Shop will be available to use by members and visitors, when restrictions are eased, and when the other facilities are in course of being completed. The next stage is the Men’s showers & toilet facilities and accessible toilet which will commence shortly so they too can be available for use when we get back to some sort of normality.

ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER
I am sorry to advise that Stuart Fairgrieve will be leaving the Club at the end of February to progress his career in golf club management. During his 2 years at the Club Stuart has provided great support in the Office and will be missed. Congratulations on his appointment as General Manager at Strathaven Golf Club which is in Lanarkshire, near Glasgow. We wish him every success in his new position.
