It has been agreed with the Course Committee that scrambles run in the spring and summer of 2026 fairway mats will not be mandatory. However there are changes to the rules to help minimise damage to the fairways:
When a players drive on the fairway has been chosen, the players will have one club length rather than the normal 6 inches to place their ball no nearer the hole.
Please note this rule change does not include drives taken in the rough.
