Killermont Ladies Invitational

On Friday 29 August we hosted our second Killermont Ladies Guest Invitational with 30 Lady members and their guests taking part.
The weather forecast was not good however the rain stayed off for most of the afternoon. Registration and a light lunch were served in the Kelvin Suite before the ladies all headed to the course for a Shotgun start at 1pm. The competition was a Greensome Shotgun Format.
A bar at the 9th tee provided added “energy” to those playing and all ladies were able to complete the 18 holes of the Competition without heavy rain.
After golf, the players were treated to a superb meal with a terrific atmosphere created within the Kelvin Suite.
Our Lady Guests were most complimentary of our course and clubhouse and everyone was very well looked after by GGC staff.
This event has now become an annual event within the Club calendar.
As far as the Competition was concerned, the scoring was very high with the first three pairings all scoring 38, 37 and 37 Stableford points. A last nine holes count back s required to determine the 2nd and 3rd places.
The results for the Competition are as follows:-
Winners Janice McIlwraith and Gill Hendry
Second Anne Reid and Janet Buchanan
Third Susan Lemond and Lindsey Wilson
On course prizes were won as follows:-
Straightest drive at 5th hole Fiona Kelly
Nearest pin at 16th Carol Fell
Nearest pin in 2 at 13th Hilary McKell & Heather Thomson
The final prize was for the Captain’s Charity where the generosity of the Ladies raised £580.

Our Captain provided a brief insight into the work of the Charity and thanked the ladies for their generosity.
