Ladies Jubilee Shield
Gorleston lose to Bramford in semi-final
On Wednesday 20th August the ladies Jubilee Shield team consisting of Vera Woolnough,Jayne Standen, Gail Chapman,Linda Atkins, Ros Woodhouse,Jenny Watson,Pauline Phillips and Jannette Heatherton travelled to Halesworth G.C for their semi final match against Bramford G.C
Bramford have won the trophy twice and been semi finalists twice since 2021,so from the start the Gorleston team knew they were in for a tough match ahead of them,but once again they took it in their stride.
Early in the mornings play all matches were strongly contested ,however as the games progressed Bramford showed why they are the ones to beat in any competition.
The Gorleston team however showed great resilience and played very good golf.
All holes were keenly contested and were won or lost on the final putt.
Unfortunately in the end Bramford proved to be too strong and the final score was 3 and a half points Bramford and one half point to Gorleston.
I wish to thank all the team for their support and congratulate them on reaching the semi final.
