Conditions were far better for tonight’s Club and Handicap Championship Semi Finals.

Both tournaments were down to the final four as John Shanks, Gareth Lamb, Ian Jardine and Ally Berry battled for a place in Sunday’s Club Championship final.

First up was John Shanks (1) v Ian Jardine (13). John was up for most of the match with Ian unable to find the consistency he’s known for. John eventually took the win on the 14th Green - 5&4.

Gareth Lamb (3) took on Ally Berry (15) in the other semi. Although Ally battled hard in his first club championship matchplay appearance, it was Gareth who ran out the deserved winner on the 16th – 3&2.

In the Handicap Championship, Jamie Bryant, Graham Crichton, Jim Leask and junior member Mason Chisholm looked to continue their fine play in the hope of making it through to Sunday’s inaugural final.

The first tie saw Graham Crichton (9) take on Jamie Bryant (4). Although Jamie was giving away 5 strokes, he raced into a commanding lead only to be pegged back on the back nine. Jamie eventually prevailed winning 3&2 on the 16th.

The final match of the evening saw Jim Leask (11) taking on Mason Chisholm (15). The match ebbed and flowed all round, with Jim making the most of the 7 strokes he was receiving. Mason went 1 up on the 16th and held onto that lead, taking victory on the 18th green.

The stage is now set for the 36-hole finals on Sunday Morning.

Jamie Bryant fighting it out with Mason Chisholm for the Handicap Championship at 8:10.
Second rounds will tee off no earlier that 12:30.
