Dear Members,
Please find below the latest update from the Handicap & Competitions Committee:
COURSE:
Preferred lies in the rough have now been withdrawn so unless you are on a closely mown area, your ball must be played as it lies. This change of course status now means that future competitions are acceptable (qualifying) for handicap purposes, results will be uploaded to the WHS and your index adjusted accordingly.
ENGLAND GOLF APP:
It has come to our attention that some members have been uploading scores to the WHS through their England Golf App whilst the course has NOT been qualifying for handicap purposes. This is against the rules and if done knowingly may be construed as cheating. We are currently going through the system to identify those who have uploaded these scores and will be deleting all such scores from their playing record. If you are one of those who has uploaded scores in this manner, please check your handicap index as it may well have changed. A decision will be made at the next Committee meeting as to whether further action is warranted. Will ALL members please note that you must not upload scores through your EG app when playing courses that are NOT fit to play for handicapping purposes.
COMPETITIONS
We had intended that next week's Spring Trophy would be the first competition in which we would trial 'Drawn Tees'. This will now NOT be the case and booking for this competition will open as usual at 2100 hrs on BRS. We do still intend to trial 'Drawn Competitions' and further information will be forthcoming as necessary.
KNOCKOUTS
Please remember to play all of your knockout matches by the 'Play-By' date and upload your result via V1. Plenty of time is given to play each round and extensions will not be allowed other than in exceptional circumstances.
With qualifying competitions re-starting for the year, now is a good time to remind you that to play in the 2025 knockouts you MUST have played in at least 5 (five) qualifying Lee Park competitions in 2024.
